My daughter is a candidate to have surgery for her ptosis. Do people with CdLS have a better quality of life if this surgery is done? What are the side effects?
Ptosis surgery is necessary for any of the following reasons:
- If it is impairing visual development by locking the pupil
- If it is causing your child to lift her chin significantly to see straight ahead
- If you would like to normalize her appearance
Without examining her it is difficult to know if she fits into category 1 or 2. Only you can determine if she is in #3.
